Over 300 South Koreans Arrested in U.S. Immigration Raid
On September 4, 2025 (local time), U.S. authorities carried out a massive immigration raid at the construction site of the Hyundai–LG battery plant in Georgia, leading to the arrest of 475 workers — including about 300 South Korean nationals. 📹 Newly released video shows armed federal agents, military vehicles, and helicopters surrounding the site. Workers were searched, restrained, and escorted onto buses. Some were caught attempting to hide on the premises. 👷 Many of those detained were reportedly employees or subcontractors of companies such as DSK Mechanics, HL-GA, and LG CNS. According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a large number had allegedly misused short-term or tourist visas to work illegally in the U.S. Others, including Mexican green card holders with criminal records, were also arrested. 🇰🇷 The Korean government has sent an emergency task force to the site, criticizing what it calls an “overly harsh” enforcement. The incident is raising diplomatic tensions between South Korea and the U.S., as both Korean citizens’ rights and corporate interests are directly impacted. This story is still developing. #BreakingNews #USImmigration #Seoul #Hyundai #LG #Georgia #KoreaUSRelations
