G1. N-에 grammar = on/in ‘date, day, and time’
-
It is used after date, day and time. (날짜와 요일, 시간 뒤에 사용해요.)
5월 8일에 뭐 해요?
- 5월 8일에 어머니 댁에 가요. (댁 = honorific of 집)
What are you doing on May
8th?
- I'm going to my mother's
house on May 8th.
언제 고향에 가요?
- 2월 16일에 가요.
When are you going back to
your hometown?
- I'm going on February 16th.
친구 생일에 케이크를 사요.
I buy a cake for my friend's
birthday.
Tense
10월 15일
-> 10월 15일에 [시월 십오일에] (on 15th
of Oct)
7월 -> 7월에 (on
July)
화요일 -> 화요일에 (on
Tuesday)
일요일 -> 일요일에 (on
Sunday)
주말 -> 주말에 (on
weekend)
생일 -> 생일에 (on
birthday)

5. 지난주 금요일이 며칠이에요?
- 지난주 금요일은 12월
1일이에요.
이번 주 토요일이 며칠이에요.

G2. N-이/가 아니다 grammar = ‘to be not’ something/someone

It is used when denying the content of the subject or a certain fact. (주어의 내용이나 어떤 사실을 부정할 때 사용해요.)
3월 8일이
토요일이에요?
- 아니요. 토요일이
아니에요. 일요일이에요.
Is March 8th a Saturday?
- No. It's not Saturday. It's Sunday.
라흐만 씨 기숙사가 3층이에요?
- 아니요. 3층이
아니에요. 4층이에요.
Rahman, is your dormitory on the 3rd floor?
- No. It's not the 3rd floor. It's on the 4th
floor.
5월 5일이
어버이날이에요?
- 아니요. 어버이날이
아니에요. 어런이날이에요.
Is May 5th Parents’ Day?
- No. It's not Parents' Day. What a day.
Tense
Noun ends in vowel (X받침)+ 가 아니에요.
어제 -> 어제가
아니에요. (it’s
not yesterday.)
이번 주 -> 이번 주가 아니에요. (it’s not this week.)
Noun ends in consonant (O받침) + 이 아니에요.
일요일 -> 일요일이
아니에요. (it’s
not Sunday.)
한국 사람 -> 한국 사람이 아니에요. (He is not a Korean.)

- No. Not today. It's tomorrow.
2. 내일이 목요일이에요?
- 아니요. 목요일이
