Used to connect sentences or provide context.

→ 시청 옆에 있는데 여기에서 가까워요.
(There’s one next to City Hall, and it’s close from here.)

Verb/Adjective + -기 때문에 (Because...)
Used to explain reasons.

(Because traffic is heavy now, the fare will be expensive.)
·
라면을 자주 먹어요?
(Do you eat ramen often?)
→ 네, 싸고 맛있기 때문에 자주 먹어요.
(Yes, because it’s cheap and delicious.)

도시에는 사람이 많기 때문에 교통이 복잡합니다.
(Because there are many people in the city, traffic is complicated.)
