Woman Accused of Blackmailing Son Heung-min Over Pregnancy While Dating Both Son and a Businessman

A woman in her 20s has been accused of using a false pregnancy claim to blackmail South Korean football star Son Heung-min, while allegedly maintaining relationships with two men at the same time—Son and a businessman. At the time of the alleged pregnancy, she reportedly did not know who the father was.

Woman Accused of Blackmailing Son Heung-min Over Pregnancy

According to an exclusive report by Dispatch on May 20, the woman engaged in simultaneous relationships with Son Heung-min and another man, a businessman. Despite her uncertainty about the baby’s paternity, she reportedly contacted both men, claiming she was pregnant.

In a voice recording obtained by her alleged accomplice—a man in his 40s—the woman admitted she had no idea who the father was. When asked, “Do you even know whose baby it is?”, she replied, “How would I know?” The man responded, “Then why are you contacting both of them?” to which she replied, “I told them both.”

While the businessman ignored her claim, Son Heung-min responded. The woman later sent him a pregnancy test result, claiming she was five to six weeks pregnant.

However, Son’s team grew suspicious due to inconsistencies:

  • The ultrasound image she sent was cropped, hiding identifying details such as the hospital or patient name.
  • The timeline between their relationship and the alleged pregnancy did not match.

Despite doubts, Son Heung-min acknowledged they had a sexual relationship and, taking personal responsibility, he reportedly paid her 300 million won in a one-time settlement.

Woman and Man arrested for blackmailing Son Heung-min

After that, the two reportedly ceased all contact—until the woman’s accomplice resurfaced. The man claimed he was engaged to the woman, and while checking her phone, discovered a confidential agreement about a pregnancy termination involving a famous footballer, allegedly Son Heung-min. He stated the agreement included a penalty clause of 10x compensation and offered to sell the document to a media outlet or Son’s team for 20 million won, labeling it a “cooperation fee.”

When Son’s side refused, the man changed his strategy, suggesting they sue the woman for fraud and blackmail, then demanded 70 million won in exchange for turning over all the documents.

Upon reviewing the materials, Son’s legal team discovered the woman was still involved with another man during the time she claimed to be pregnant with Son's child. That revelation reportedly prompted Son to file formal charges for blackmail.

On May 17, the Seoul Central District Court issued arrest warrants for both the woman and the man involved, citing risk of evidence destruction and flight. They face charges of blackmail and attempted blackmail.

Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the case. While the paternity of the alleged child remains unconfirmed, authorities stated that the use of pregnancy as a tool for extortion is sufficient to constitute a criminal offense under South Korean law.
