🔥 “Four Hands, Two Sonatas” Hits Netflix Korea With a New Ratings High!

Song Kang and Lee Jun-young’s “Four Hands, Two Sonatas” is gaining momentum — and the numbers are starting to show it. 🎹📈

Just three weeks after its premiere, the tvN drama has reached a major milestone, recording its highest viewership rating since its debut as it wrapped up the first half of its 12-episode run.

According to Nielsen Korea, Episode 6, which aired on September 13, achieved an impressive 7.3% average nationwide rating, taking first place in its time slot across all channels. The episode also recorded a 7.37% rating in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Even more striking is how quickly the drama has grown.

“Four Hands, Two Sonatas” premiered on August 29 with a 3.39% nationwide rating. Episode 2 then jumped to 5.94%, while Episode 4 reached 5.78%. After Episode 5 dipped to 4.22%, the drama came roaring back with Episode 6 and its new 7.32% personal best.

The latest result was also nearly double the previous night's rating, making the surge particularly notable for a drama still only halfway through its run.

🎹 From Rivalry to an Unbreakable Connection

Set at an elite arts high school, the drama follows two young pianists from completely different backgrounds.

Song Kang plays Kang Pi-o, a gifted piano prodigy who has spent his life pursuing perfection under enormous pressure. Lee Jun-young stars as Choi Jeong-yo, a late-blooming pianist whose difficult past has shaped a very different approach to music and life.

When the two meet, their contrasting personalities and musical styles create an intense rivalry. But their relationship gradually becomes something much more complicated, as they push each other to grow both as musicians and as people.

Netflix describes the series as a story of friendship, rivalry and growth, with the two pianists' lives becoming deeply intertwined through their shared passion for music.

And the piano isn't simply a backdrop. Music is at the heart of the drama, with the title itself referring to the intimate four-hands piano format in which two performers share a single keyboard.

📺 The Netflix Momentum

The drama's growing popularity isn't limited to its Korean television ratings.

“Four Hands, Two Sonatas” has also climbed to No. 2 on Netflix Korea's TV Shows ranking, giving the series another strong sign of growing viewer interest.

That combination — a new TV ratings high and a strong Netflix Korea ranking — is particularly encouraging for a drama that has only aired six of its 12 episodes.

With the first half now complete, the story is entering an even more crucial stage.

The latest episodes have introduced major developments surrounding Jeong-yo, leaving viewers with questions that could keep the momentum going into the second half.

🔥 Can It Go Even Higher?

Going from a 3.39% premiere rating to 7.32% in just three weeks is a significant rise.

Now, with six episodes remaining, “Four Hands, Two Sonatas” has a chance to build on that momentum and potentially set another ratings record before its October finale.

For Song Kang and Lee Jun-young, the growing response also puts an even brighter spotlight on their performances and the unusual musical world at the center of the drama.

The first half may have ended at a high note — but the real test begins now. 🎹🔥
