댁 = honorific of house , home
아주머니 = aunt (for calling old woman)
할아버지 = grandpa
할머니 = grandma
그렇다 = to be so
실례지만 =I'm sorry but
의 = of
지금 = now
다시 = again
그러면 = if so, then...
전화를 하다 = to call
안녕히 주무세요 = please sleep well

1. N1의 N2 : N1's N2 / N2 of N1

철수의 선생님 : Chulsoo's teacher
나의 책 (내 책) : my book
김영숙 씨(의) 친구 :  Youngsook's friend.

2.누구 : who (object)

이 학생은 누구입니까?
Who is this student?

누구에게 전화했어요?
Who did you call?

*누(구)가: who (subject)

누가 왔습니까?
- 친구가 왔어요.
Who came?
- A friend came over.

누가 전화를 했어요?
- 학생이 했어요.
Who called?
- A student called.

3. V-(으)세요 :  honorific ending ( is also imperative ending, but we will study later)

윌슨 씨도 지금 공부하세요?
Wilson, are you also studying now?

무슨 책을 읽으세요?
What book are you reading?

김 선생님은 한국어를 가르치세요.
Teacher Kim teaches Korean.

4. 안 V : not V (same as V-지 않다).

오늘 철수도 안 왔어요.
Chulsoo also does not come today.

5. V-겠다 :  I/we/you will; plan to (expressing the intention or will of the speaker)

한국어를 배우겠어요.
I will learn Korean.

주말에 무엇을 하시겠습니까?
- 친구를 만날겠습니다.
What will you do on weekend?
- I will meet friends.

6. 계시다 : be in/at somewhere (honorific of 있다)

선생님이 여기에 계십니까?
- 계세요.
Is (your) teacher here?
- He is (here).

*댁 : home (honorific of 집)

홍 선생님은 댁에 계세요.
Teacher Hong is at home.

7. 여보세요. 거기 N-입니까? : Hello, is this N? (Only used to talk in phone)

8. 그렇다 : right

네, 그렇습니다/ 네, 그래요 : Yes, it is.

9. 실례지만 : excuse me but

실례지만, UST대학생이에요? :
Excuse me but are you UST student?

10. N(을/를) 하다 : to do N

공부를 하다, 전화 하다

영숙 씨는 지금 집에 안 계세요.

1. 의 is possessive marker of 's or 'of'. 나의 and 저의  can be contract to 내 and 제, respectively.
E.g 나의 책 / 내책

2. -(으)세요 is honorific ending of 시 and -어요. -으세요 is used after a consonant and -세요 is used after a vowel.

3. 안 means 'not or no' . It is usually followed by a verb.

4. -겠- is used to convey the speaker's will, intention or plan.

5. 그렇습니다/ 그래요 means 'it is true' or 'it is so'. The former is formal and polite than the latter.
