Usage:

- 에도 불구하고 is used to express a contrast that an unexpected result occurs (in the 2^nd clause) even under the background circumstance (in the 1^st clause) = even though, despite

- 에도 불구하다 can be shortened to -에도  for nouns or -(으)ㅁ에도 verbs and adjectives, 불구하고 is used to emphasize the meaning

- 에도 불구하고 can be replaced by -는데도 불구하고 grammar without meaning change. However, -는데도 불구하고 is often used in colloquial (casual) language while -에도 불구하고 is often used in written language.
