L1G75 Direct quotations in Korean: 라고 했다, 하고 했다 = said/asked/written "....."

Usage:
- Direct quotation is word-for-word quoting of what someone said, thought, or wrote.

- Sentence structure:

"Quoted speech" +하고/라고 + verb

- 하고 is often used in written texts while 라고 is often used in everyday conversations and speech.

- Common ending verb:
말하다 = speak
이야기하다 = talk
그러다 = indicate, say
무러보다 = ask
생각하다 = think
부탁하다 = request
쓰다 = write
듣다 = listen
써 있다 = be written





Examples

1. 에디슨은 "실패는 성공의 어머니입니다"라고 했어요.
