과거의 우리는 부모의 역할을 언급할 때 흔히 엄마와 아빠의 역할을 구분하게 되는데 시대가 변해 오면서 현대 사회에서는 엄마와 아빠의 역할을 구분하기보다는 부모가 함께 ‘부모역할’을 수행하는 것이 바람직하다. 부모 모두는 자녀의 성장 과정에 커다란 책임이 있으며 양육자로서 안정된 애착관계 형성, 인격 형성, 코치 또는 멘토 등 수많은 역할을 해 줘야 한다.
