Anonymous Child’s Heartfelt Donation |
On August 2, a carefully wrapped box was discovered in front of the Gapyeong Fire Station. Inside the box were a handwritten letter, snacks, vitamins, gum worth approximately ₩13,000, and even ₩50,000 in cash — all donated anonymously.
The heartfelt note, written in a child's unsteady handwriting, read:
“Dear firefighters, please use this money to help people in our neighborhood who suffered flood damage but have no one to help them. It’s not a lot, but I hope it helps. Thank you for always working so hard for us. Please enjoy the vitamins and gum I included.”
Fire station staff were reportedly touched by the sincere gesture, smiling as they read the note.
A Gapyeong Fire Department official commented,
“We were deeply moved by the child’s thoughtful heart. We will make sure the donation is used where it’s truly needed.”
Authorities are currently verifying the procedures to ensure that the donated items and funds are properly delivered to local flood victims or other residents in need.
